My name is John McCabe and I am happy to be running for Selectboard in the Town of Richmond on March 7, 2006.


As a resident to the Town of Richmond, I have a strong appreciation and sense for this area since moving here 5 years ago. I believe that a Selectperson is the voice of the people, and in a community as small as ours, it is the most important view a candidate should have. My promise as an unseasoned people’s advocate is to listen thoroughly too all concerns and find the most reasonable and fair representation to our residents.

Issues that residents I have spoken to concern with exploring recreation and youth programs for our children, improvements of the areas secondary roads, exploration of a revitalizing of downtown, keeping the overall cost to necessary levels for our taxpayers and keeping the current elected positions by having less appointments by the board as is now being proposed.

I encourage those of you I have not yet met or spoken to, to call me @ 434-7451 and express your concerns so I can be a selectperson that grows with all of you in the years ahead to make Richmond the best town it can possibly be.
