It appears that the discussions about what to do about the Huntington Gorge dangers are in motion.
A plan to built "new and improved" signs outlining stories of the deaths and a possible blocked parking access are two leading contenders discussed in the Free Press over this weekend.
I am not certain that I get it. How big do the signs need to be? And since parking there is an annoyance anyway, I fail to see how making it more of a pain is going to help.
Why not post a psychiatrist 24/7 to shake prospective swimmers and scream "What are you... a moron?" People will do stupid things. The dangers are known, are posted, and there is nothing one can do to make certain that it never happens again.
