MMU Global Awareness Day Seeks Help

Monday, February 26 2007 @ 10:37 AM EST
Contributed by: mbt

Volunteer PostingsHi, my name is Shaina Kasper and I am a Junior at MMU High School in
Jericho. I am heading up a Global Awareness Day at out School on Friday,
March 16th, 2007.

On this day, students will be learning about global issues
first-hand from people who are passionate about them. Students will sign up
ahead of time to go to two different sessions of 40 minutes each to learn
about two different global issues of their interest.

Please consider volunteering to be a speaker at this unique event. Anyone
can lead a group of teenagers as long as they have experience and/or
interest in an issue of global concern, keep teenagers engaged in two
identical sessions of 40 minutes, and answer questions. The speaker can
deliver their information in any medium they wish, such as lecture,
discussion, movies, slideshows, or even art, music, or dance.

If you would be willing to be a speaker, please email the following
information to me at shaina.kasper@yahoo.com, or feel free to call me at
434-3443.

-Name and contact information (phone number, email, etc.)
-Topic being covered
-Expertise/experience with the above topic.
-Method of activity (for example: slide show, dance, music, cooking,
lecture, discussion, art, etc. Please be specific.)
-Materials/equipment needed (for example: computer, projector, auditorium,
gym, kitchen, art supplies etc. Please be specific.)
-Maximum number of students you would be comfortable having in each of the
two activities.
-Your word that you will be at Mt. Mansfield Union High School on March
16th, from 1:15 to 3:45pm
