Wow - the metal truss bridge on Bridge St. has been posted for 3 whole days an no comments here?

The newspaper reports talk about the lower weight posting being "inconvenient". What an understatement!
This affects not only our town, but Huntington and beyond. A few years ago a survey showed that over 4,000 people pass ove that bridge every day. Not all of those people are from Richmond.
The trucks that can't cross the river are just the start of it. Think of all the businesses that will be affected. The home supply, farms, fire and rescue (don't have a heart attack!), delivery vans and school buses. You will be affected, too, since this will result in higher prices for everyone!
They actually sent school buses up Kenyon Road last Friday! Do you want to see them do that all winter?
Many roads, such as Cemetery Road, Hillview and East Hill Road will see greatly increased traffic - especially trucks as they look for alternate routes.
This is not something that can be fixed quickly - think of how long it took to get the Jonesville Bridge repaired!
Think about how this will affect you and help urge the Selectboard to find a solution quickly (like a temporary bridge) so we can at least be ready for the next school year.

Help work on the town plan to make infrastructure repair and maintenance a priority instead of emergency response!
Infrastructure includes sidewalks as well as the roads.
