Just an idea...

ArtHi, my name is Elsa McLaughlin and I'm a senior at MMU. Bryan Agran gave me this website and I thought it would be a good place to voice an idea I've been brewing.

I would like to put on a series of one-act plays on the Green. The actors would be people from Richmond (I was thinking mostly young children, but that can change) and the plays would be short 5-10 minute skits.

I have a lot of experience with theatre, but I'm going to need help with the organization. Leave a comment telling me what you think of this idea, or send me a note at my email which is violacincilla@yahoo.com. Thanks!

I think it's a fine idea, and I think you might be able to get the Richmond Free Library to help you out a bit. Also, they have performance space.

Cheers,

I second Jeff's thoughts.

As a matter of fact, you should talk with Rebecca at the library. Not that the Green isn't a wonderful idea, but perhaps this can be in a more intimate setting and grow from there.

Also, our experience with the weather for the Film Fest, was always a nailbiting one. This way, a staging area can be established and the event can happen in any condition and through the colder months.

It is worth a chat, I think.

Hi Elsa (great name, btw...I have a very sweet dog who shares your name!)

The Richmond Area Business Association may be into supporting your idea as well. Not 100% what you could use the group for, but at the very least maybe some good ideas???

You can message me through their website. Richmond Area Business Association website

Good luck, Billy
