Plans to repave the section of Interstate 89 are in motion. According to reliable sources the construction starts on July 17th. PLAN ACCORDINGLY!
Anyone traveling south from Burlington, earlier this week, caught a glimpse of traffic issues to come as shoulder work is being conducted half way down French Hill.
The repair to the roadways are desperately needed as the asphalt is not standing up to the harsh Vermont winters. As early as this past winter, one could feel the affects as tire-tread wear created smooth grooves within the paved surface. My car drove as though it were riding on tracks as the tires found there home within the curvature of the troughs.
While I could not find mention of the construction to come, perhaps some of you might. Here it the Vermont Department of Transportation website. If you find mention, please post additional information. It would be nice to know how long the repairs are going to take.
