A Soldier's Journey

Monday, July 04 2005 @ 02:40 PM EDT
Contributed by: Bryan

Just for FunThis Civil War re-enactor is on a long journey home. Leaving a battle of heat and exhaustion behind, he will hopefully find a cool breeze and cooler clothes waiting for him.

John Croft has been re-enacting battles of the Civil War for years. He dresses the part, looks the part, acts the part, and if you look for a modern watch on his costumed body... you won't find it.

For the last few years, Richmond has been lucky to have a handful of these gentlemen parade down our main street on the 4th of July, outfitted with genuine garb.

Their heat is our gain as we get a glimpse of how our early soldiers shaped Amerca.
